Appeal for Education Funds: Showcasing Bike Walk Montana's New Education Coordinator

Claire was sworn in as an Energy Corps member in October 2019 and is looking forward to serving with Bike Walk Montana throughout her year-long term. Claire graduated from Louisiana State University in May of 2019 with a degree in Biological Sciences. She is returning to Montana three years after having lived here briefly while participating in a “National Student Exchange” program at the University of Montana. Since graduating, and up until her start with Bike Walk Montana, Claire was working as a seasonal intern at Mote Marine Laboratory's “Sea Turtle Research and Conservation Program”. Claire has many interests, and is particularly passionate about wildlife biology and conservation. Claire believes one of the most important components of conservation is education, and she is eager to serve as an advocate and teacher for sustainable transportation education and safety across the state.

Claire will be working on building up BWMT’s education programs, with a focus specifically on bike rodeos that provide kids the knowledge and skills necessary to bike safely and confidently on our streets. BWMT also seeks to educate adults, senior citizens, law enforcement, and decision makers, and programs to emphasize the importance of “complete streets” will also be a large focus of Claire’s position.

If you are as passionate about biking and walking, supporting sustainable habits and improving air quality, and/or educating children and other community members that utilize public transportation systems, please consider supporting our organization’s new Education Coordinator position by making a tax-deductible donation to BWMT, or by becoming a member.
